Default $1,000 for a ebcm!

Just back from the Stealership had a Ebcm installed cost for the ECBM was $788.00 and another 212.00 for labor! also had a stuck window fixed $298.00 for a regulator and another $178.00 for labor! do these prices sound right?

Does it matter now? You paid it, it is what it is. They diagnosed it,replaced/repaired it. Could you do it yourself cheaper? I guess you could, but if you were qualified, I assume you would. Is the car fixed? Where they close to their estimate? If so, great! Enjoy your repaired vehicle.

I've seen guys pay more. Looks like you got a reasonable deal to me.

Couldn't absixer.com fix the old EBCM? If you didn't try, I'd ask the dealer for the old one and get it fixed ($150). At least that way you'd recover some of the cost.

For a dealership repair, that's probably not a bad price. Hopefully the car is fixed and you get a lot more trouble free miles from it.

I would send it to absfixer, have it repaired and then either keep it as a spare or sell in on ebay.

I think you should fix it yourself and then list it in the C5 parts forum. Here is the "how-to" thread for 01-04 C5s: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...r-fleabay.html

I think sort of the other way around. No one seems to be able to fix 97 - 00 but they are able to repair the C1214 code on 01 - 04.

I think you're right. I have a 99 and still remember the let down when I found out. There is someone claiming to fix the 99's but it's $800. This thread had my hopes up for a minute. But for $722. I'd buy a new one instead.

My bad....I knew it was something about the 97-00 that was at issue that wasnt with the 01-04, or vice versa
