That would drive me absolutely nuts, no feet on my dashboard, ever! Besides, in an accident her knees will smash right into her face from the airbag, not a pretty sight. I'm sure she'll say that's not going to happen, but who ever plans an accident in advance.
those airbags come out hard and fast. if you are in an accident and your feet are up there, serious injury will happen. Even if your knees miss your face, plan on some muscle tears or damage from that airbag moving her legs in a way that you can only dream about. unless she is an olympic level gymnast, and if she is, congrats to you!!
you are correct, you cant. I think it was either 2000 or 2001 when they put in the off switch.
OH! Good... For a minute there I thought I was stuck with safety equipment that could save my girlfriend's life. But since I could shut it off, she could put her feet up and we're all good.

This is why it is illegal to do this in Illinois. It is also illegal to put your feet out the window. It would make for a really bad day if you got into an accident. Her legs would be torn up.

Torn up? NO her legs would be torn OFF!
It's amazing to me how ignorant some can be just lightly disregarding the impact of losing their legs, especially beautiful girls, what a sad way to be.

Where did I say they would be "torn OFF?" I'm the ignorant one? You obviously can't read. I'm a police officer and have gone to hundreds of accidents were the passengers legs where on the dash when the air bag deployed. They received multiple tears in muscle, ligaments, and I've seen several people with blown out knees....aka TORN UP like I said, not "TORN OFF"

Chill.....I didn't intend any of my statement to reflect on you. I meant that for the young ladies who do it.
Now pull your badge off the PC screen.....we can't see it anyway. LOL! Don't take things so seriously.
Hmm, I don't know...it isn't THAT big of a deal I guess. I do detail the car often enough and if it was late and She was tired, I'd probably let Her. That's pending I had a GF! for now, that isn't the case and I'm not losing sleep over it.
There was a car crash where I live a couple of years ago. One of the girls, my daughters close friend was riding with her feet on the dash. For some reason, in the middle of a sunny day, their car crossed over to oncoming traffic. They crashed head on into an SUV. She had many broken bones and internal injuries from having her feet on the dash. Just think about the physics at play in a head on crash when your feet are on the dash. She did not survive. She was 16 years old. To me, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to have their feet on the dash while riding in a car. Ever.

It's a matter of respect. If you 've informed her that feet belong on the floor in shoes, or without, but you own the car, you take very good care of the car, and you DO NOT want feet of any kind on the dashboard. If that's out of the question, then exactly how much repect does she have for you ?
Were you to constantly fooling with her hair or cosmetics how would she feel ? Something are a personal item who's line is not to be crossed. If she can't understand that, I'd cut her lose and move on to better waters.
Although my wife has never done this in my Corvette (she does it in her SUV while I'm driving), I wouldn't say a word to her. 50 years from now it won't matter and it surely isn't worth the energy to even bring it up.
However, if her feet looked like those nasty ones that other post, feet on my dash would be the least of my concerns!! hahahaha
