I am getting the PO343 Cam Position sensor voltage high code and after cleaning all my grounds and checking all the wiring I need advice on which direction to go next. I did a search and from what I found it seems that these sensors usually do not go bad. It seems that the cam sprocket bolts become loose do to gm not using loctite.
I had a cam package installed 7 months ago at a very reputable shop so I believe that they would torque to spec and use loctite on the bolts. That being said what should I do now?
Should I try to replace the sensor myself?
Should I send it back to the shop and let them check the bolts?
If it is the bolts, should I have to pay out of my pocket?
I'm planning on calling the shop tomorrow to see what they say but wanted to get some advice before I do. Thanks in advance!
I was on my way home when the code popped up so I haven't drove my car since. I did start it a couple of times after cleaning my grounds and clearing my codes (which would immediately pop back up) but I'm not going to risk it anymore.
