I got a new battery for a dead key fob yesterday and went through the "hold lock + unlock" procedure to get it going. Then I must have pressed the wrong button to get out of the menu because it came up tire training. I pressed a few more buttons to try to get out of it and then just turned off the ignition. This morning I get a "service tire monitoring system" a CEL and codes C2100H, C2105H, C2115H and then the random misfire p0300H which i think is unrelated since it is a history code without the C prefix.
Do I just need to go through the magnet relearn process for the tps now?
Are you getting any tire pressure readout now on the DIC? How about when you push the "reset" button on the DIC? I would try the reset first and if that doesn't work then you may need to relearn the sensors. There is a lot of good info on how to do that if you if do a search on TPMS. If you do not have the magnets to relearn the sensors, you can usually go to someplace like Discount Tire stores etc. and they have the tool to do it with. Good luck.
Cant be sure but it sounds like you got into the TPM learning procedure by accident. Just go through a full relearn and see where you are.
I am getting reading on the front left and back right now. The other two are XXX
CEL is gone after I cleared the codes. I haven't to put but about 10 miles on it over lunch but there were no more codes when I got back. I'll grab a speaker magnet and get back into the place where it says Tire Training and see if I can get them to work.
Your 2000 sensors may be as old as 12 years now.(my 2000 was built Nov. 99) 10 years on Gen I sensors is about max. It may be time to replace all 4 @ $100.'s each.
XXX means the batteries are dead. The RFA is not seeing a signal from those TPMs
Before I would get XXXs in the morning after the car started rolling each one would show a pressure for the rest of the day until the next morning.
I am not too concerned with knowing my tire pressure so although it does concern me a little that it caused a CEL I just dont think I could fork over 400 bucks to be able to read it again. I am hoping that they wont put the car into any sort of reduced power mode if they all go bad
yep, looks like it is time to replace the batteries. I tried doing the relearn procedure with the magnet and the ones that gave me a code received no honk. The others honked away.
