C5 Corvette Projector Headlights...
I'm planning on updating my stock headlights to the Projector Headlights. They still are using the 9005 and 9006 bulbs but appear to be more udated in looks and performance than the stock items. Does anyone have these on their C5, and are they worth the change. I'm not looking to get HID results just better than stock. Thanks..

Projector refers to the housing and reflectors (can have any bulb in them HID . . . Halogen . . .) so are you asking about replacing the fixtures the bulbs go into or just the bulbs . . .or both?

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...-at-night.html this sounds like a pretty good deal. i got an hid conversion kit from corvettemod for 69.99 and its a great upgrade from stock in terms of looks and visibility, replacing the loweams only. however, if i hadn't already purchased that kit, i would have found the kit the person in that link was using. i noticed a post yesterday that a forum member has designed and made a nice kit costing 1200.00. a very nice kit but the 900.00 dollar difference could pay some bills around the house

i have a set of the radioflyer's pop up projector conversion that i really like. they really light up the road and with is Hi-4 kit you can get both the low and high beams on at the same time for even more lighting on dark roads.

Here they are, FleeBay (can't put the real name).. about $230 and look like the Radio Flyer ones but cheaper. They replace the stock lights with just a swap, no other modification. I haven't seen a vette with these on thus why I'm asking, if anyone has ordered a set and used them, anything has to be better than stock.

Those are what we call the ACA's (company went out of business and someone replicated the mold). They're good lights, you'ld have to look and see if they come with halogens in them (most do). And while Im not sure they all do, some of them are not "bolt in and go", there can be some trimming of the ribs on the underside of the light brackets to get them installed.

Thanks "eldudereno", so the question, how do you like them, do they project more light at night and do they look good on the vehicle? I'll check out ACA online. I think I'm gonna give them a try. Normally if a product is works good, looks good, you start to see them on many vettes. I've never seen any yet, and boy do I look at different vettes all over. I have a Dodge Ram with lights, fog lights and driving lights, I like seeing at night. My C5's fog lights are a joke, headlights, well a tad better.. Thanks

The ACA setup is some of the best out there. Numerous members on here have them. They work amazing and area true projector lense with proper cutoffs and HID bulbs and ballasts, wiring harness included. Do a search on here and you will find alot of information. These will really update the look of your C5 to modern standards.
Here's mine. I went with a 6000K bulb instead of the 4200K the kit came with because I liked the slightly bluer tint of the 6000K bulb, but the 4200K would be a whiter light.

If you're going to get projectors, you may as well get HID bulbs since thats what they were designed for. If you don't like the "blue" look, just get 4300K (halogen yellow) colored bulbs and the color will look like a super-bright halogen bulb.

Sorry to wake a dead thread but I figured that'd be more polite than starting a new one.
I'm still confused...
I want to upgrade to HID Headlights and get like a Halo style look going on without dropping $700+. It sounds like these ACA Headlights could accomplish that.
What all do I need to buy to get ACA / Projector / Halo style lights with HID's?
This kit appears to have everything I need; http://shop.radioflyerinnovations.co...lights-015.htm
Right? Says it already has the housings, comes with the hi-4 harness, and an HID kit, wouldn't need anything else?
Also, I want to get a white light, not yellow or blue. I am aiming to have white HID's matching white DRL's (DRL's I will get the switch backs that go back to amber when you use a turn signal), and matching fog lights. What's the best color temp / setting? 4300k? 6000k? I know 8000k is too much blue. Does that radioflyer kit accomplish that?
Thanks!

I've had the Radio Flyer Bi-Xenon ACA projector headlights for a number of years and love them. They really do light up the night especially with the 4-high option to have all 4 headlights on at hi beam. They are much less expensive now than when I bought mine.. I have the 6000K bulbs.
I tried all the different bulbs on the market in the factory housings including some very hi watt European bulbs and now that I have the RadioFlyers product, it is light years ahead of the factory housings.........

Thanks for your input.
So that $300 kit I linked includes all I need right?
Could you share some pics of yours? Like two would be awesome, one with the lights on showing the color of them, and one with the lights off, close up of the housings. That'd be cool

Looks awesome! Yeah definitely liking those housings, just want to make sure the color temp is what I want as well. Thanks man, looking forward to any other pics you can share later!

5000K (pure white) is the default HID color. It is in my opinion the best color for performance as it illuminates the road (and objects in it) in their natural color.

Here are a couple taken in the garage (not the best place since night would be better) that I just took
Low beam so the HID is the only thing illuminated:
Four high so both the HID and standard high beam bulb are illuminated:
Parking lights only so the halo is on but nothing else:
I'll try to get some outside night pics of the same things tonight.

So you say /show yours turn on a halo when the parking lights are on, but Radioflyer has said their kit does not have the halo effect. Is there a way to add that on to the kit?
Our lights do not have the "halo" ring on them. That version is a much cheaper version made in China. Other than that, our kit contains everything you'll need to install them.

Oh that's perfect! Pure white is just what I'd want! Any way to add the halo's on to yours? And do they come up with HID high beams or are those halogen bulbs because of the flashing thing I mentioned a moment ago in this post?
Thanks RadioFlyer!
