It has its own internal speaker and is on the back of the instrument panel. I'm local to RadioFlyer and had him wire a kill switch into mine. That way I can have my headlights up/on at car shows (showing off his light cannons) and the doors open yet not have the chime going.
He figured it out pretty easy. Send him a PM and see if he can give you a hand.
I have something slightly different in mind. I'm sure I could figure it out, but its sure easier to use other people's experience.
do you know if it was done in the harness for the cluster or is it a mod to the cluster itself? I think there's a dedicated wire to indicate lights on to the cluster. I haven't looked into it that deeply, but I've always wondered if that wire alone would be able to kill the chime. it might also kill the illumination though, not sure!
Yep, that pic looks very familiar. I have a recollection that it was a single wire that did the job. For some reason green sticks in my mind. But DO NOT go based off of my fuzzy memory. I did the disassembly while RadioFlyer worked on other pieces. Basically I was his "apprentice" for the install. I did the piddly stuff that kept me entertained and kept the job moving. Plus it was fun to rip half my car apart!
