Feedback on Blackwing intake. Please
What I would like to know is after installing the blackwing could you feel a noticible difference in throttle response or power? What about Fuel economy?
In my opinion, the smooth coupler and K&N filer allow the best flow I can get out of the stock intake, would I really notice a difference going to the blackwing?????
Thanks to all who reply

like heads or a cam. It would be a good time for the buy though:

with Jack. I felt an improvement in throttle response immedialtely! But like any other mod, the "SOTP" feeling goes away with time. I will say that with the Blackwing, LT Headers, and a Tune I picked up a tad over 40RWHP.It looks good, it's easy to pull out to clean, and the price it right...

We sell just as many Blackwings as we do Vararam VRB2 units
Both 249.99 shipped

I will note the Blackwing is ALOT easier install!
a) Yes, an aftermarket intake system like the Blackwing, Halltech Stinger, K&N FIPK and others provide a nice increase in RWHP (see my signature for actual numbers).
b) No one intake system is superior to the others (Dyno HP gains).
c) ANY intake system will benefit from pulling in cooler air than that in a typical engine bay.
You have a couple of options with the Blackwing or Halltech. You can open up the fog light panels and add Z06 screens. Or if you don't want to hide/darken your fog lights, do what I did:

I have reams of data from an OBD II "Car Chip" that shows a significant reduction in intake air temps. The main advantage to this mod is that not only does the intake air temps decrease (preventing as much as a 10 HP drop during slow-moving conditions) but also cools off the engine bay - something that the Vararam or Callaway doesn't do. Keeping the engine bay cool prolongs the life of electronics, belts, hoses, plastics and batteries. This is especially important if you run long tube headers, which like giant heat radiators.
So, in summation, yes the Blackwing adds HP but to retain that HP gain, you should feed it cold outside air.
