My Covercraft Weathershield car cover is pretty much shot, so I'm looking for recommendations for a new cover. My C5 sits outside all year long, and I live in CT. That means harsh winters, a lot of wind, and of course typical summer sun and heavy thunderstorms. The weathershield cover just wasn't durable enough. Even when tied down, even a light wind would blow the front end of the cover out of place. The stitching is starting to come undone, and the cover doesn't protect against heavy rainstorms, which are frequent here in the summer.
Can anyone recommend a more durable cover? Something that is more heavy duty, and able to withstand heavier downpours, protect against UV, and not blow out of place if someone coughs next to the vehcile? I guess "waterproof" doesn't exist? If not, what would be the most water / weather resistant cover I could buy? Thanks!
The single best thing you can do to keep your paint and leather in good condition is to park in a garage. When I bought my 68 in Naugatuck in 1979, I rented a garage for $20/month and used my 68 Cougar to tool around in. CT Winters are brutal. Hopefully, someone has had good experience with an all-weather cover.
recently purchased a covercraft ultratec cover, the reason for the purchase was to get a waterproof cover while waiting to do repairs on my 2000frc. it would have been better to continue using gm stock cover. there are seams on the cover which leak and they run along the roof lines. what they stated in advertising i thought i would be dry till i got to the repairs, appox 250 later, still mopping up leaks.
