I get a little annoyed with mine some times but that is uaually causes by the M6 in traffic. But if you are comfortable in a z28 then I would say its not too big of a difference as far as comfort goes.
I just sold my '99 Camaro SS a couple months ago that had been my daily driver for over 4 years and started driving my frc daily and it honestly isn't a whole lot different. If you're used to the z28, then you'd have no problem with a vette. And like others have said, reliability certainly isn't an issue.
Ice had my vette for 3 years an has been my dd ever since I've had mine lowered also an with a bunch of mods but does fine I don't knw why people get cars they don't drive I love my car and people tell me to get a daily driver but why I love it so I drive it best part of the day is driving to and from work enjoy
You should take a closer look at the car. As another Forum member said, get the car up in the air to look at other possible damage to front, skid bars, rockers, etc. Many are messed up and after the purchase is no time to find out.
Plus there is lots of info here on the Forum on what a potential buyer should look for on a C5. Old damage from leaking battery, column lock issues (need to know what has been done by previous recalls/owners). Read the codes for sure--can tell you a lot, and if there are some current codes that don't clear you could pass on the car or use that info to negotiate price downwards to fix indicated problems.
Pre-, not post-purchase, is the time to find out issues with the car.
Thanks for all the responses. I'm still working out the details with the dealer. The prior owner traded it in for a new Jeep and the dealer will give me a really good deal on the trade in on my 09 Jeep which is in high demand. Then I'm going to go over the car with a fine tooth comb and have them service ANYTHING I can find. Of course feel free to throw out suggestions there.
Here's some pics. It's an 02 auto, 64,691 miles, black leather, HUD, dual climate, Corsa exahaust, new tires.

Good luck
Thanks very much. I emailed the dealer to see if they will lift it so I can get under.
is there a way to check for battery leakage other then having them pull the battery?
My understanding was the 01-04 was only effected by column lock on the 6spds? Is that true?
I'll look up the procedure to display the codes unless someone could post it up for me. It will display uncleared codes but will it display its code history as well?
Took it home tonight and I'm in love. They put it on lifts for me and I sat under for 10 minutes looking for any leaks. They gave me a 6 month/6,000 mile drivetrain warranty that covers drivetrain seals and gaskets. I also had him pull the battery and all looked clean.
Funny we go on a 10 mile test drive and all is well. Finish all the paperwork they wash it and park it up front. I drive a mile down the road and the check engine light came on....not a very good start It's going back tomorrow morning for them to fix it. He filled it up before giving it to me so possibly he put low octane gas but not sure if that'd trigger the CEL. Oh well they'll scan it and fix it tomorrow. Also the drive said headlight goes down then right back up when you turn the lights off. They will fix that too.
Ride straight as hell and is very fast and loud with the Corsa catback. Some guy was talking to me when I left saying he almost bought it and that it has a Z06 rearend on it. I'll confirm that truth to that later but why would he put a Z06 rear end if it wasn't modded heavily?
Also I was disappointed that the brand new tires that it has or Firestone Firehawks which are not run flats so that makes me nervous about getting stranded. Time for AAA membership.
Check to make sure the gas cap is secured all the way, that will trip the CEL sometimes.
Exactly my thoughts. Cheers!
Right now I'm in love. It's fast as hell....sounds amazing with the Corsa catback. I'm like a kid on christmas morning. Can't wait to wakeup in the morning and go out.

It's too damn hot if you have a black see through targa top. I have to run the AC all the time. I decided to take the Ford Taurus as my daily driver and the vette gets weekend duty or after work duty if weather permits. I'm 6'2" and it's tough to get out of too, I love to drive it, but the Taurus is alot more practical.
Dealer is going to look at this Monday. Would the gas cap trigger that code? The dealer didn't have the gas cap "clicked" tight a few so I tightened it.
It also has 4 history codes that look like they were related to the right door and the seat.
A1-RDCM U1064 H
A6-SCM B0857 H
A6-SCM B2860 H
BO-RFA U1225 H
Put a couple hundred miles on it and the light turned off and went away. I'm going to clear the codes and see if any come back. This car runs like a champ though! It has a VR intake and Corsa exhaust and it just flies.
a c5 is a great daily driver. the interior is very ergonomic IMO. if you dont like the ride, there are almost infinite possibilities to adjust the suspension to you liking.
