Those are really good numbers on your Set-up -

Being it a Mustang Dyno you are more in the area of 350 RWHP 350+ RWTQ!

Thanks,Matt

Come on now - the 97 base engine is rated at 345HP at the block. Your saying with just a CAI and SLP exhaust, it will have 350 RWHP ?????
If so, consider that the parasitic HP loss from crank to rear wheels is estimated at approx 20% for an auto (give or take a few %). So if you calculate up from 350 at the wheels, it comes to 420 at the crank. That is some outrageous HP increase with just those two bolt on mods.

Congrats to the OP for Dynoing great numbers with min mods but let's not get carried away here.

These numbers seem suspiciously high. That dyno may need some calibrating. Also some operators are notorious for inflating numbers(it brings em more business from the dyno number braggers) I race several local club members with over 400 hp on dyno sheets that I beat at the track by over a second and I doubt if I make 330 hp.

Sorry but that's not possible not with those 2 mods. The intake won't give you crap and the catback maybe a few, plus you are a a4. That dyno DEFINATELY needs to be calibrated or setup coreectly. Sorry but that's just reality.

ok, 308 vararam intake with power duct and descreened maf 10-15 =318-323, catless slp loudmouth exhaust with x pipe another 10-15= 328-333 or 338. pretty close to 331 if you ask me.

you might want to take your car to another dyno and see what she puts down. those are pretty high numbers especially on a mustang dyno. are you still running factory headers?

That's ridiculous, less restrictiveness still has an effect separate from "ram" air.

Put a toilet paper roll in your mouth and sit still. Then use a straw. Which one can you breathe through better? Whether you are running down your hallway forcing air down the roll or sitting still, the less restrictive flow is always going to be better. Please send a video if you try this also.

For reference, I have a 2002 M6... Breathless Intake and Corsa Exhaust. I got 329HP/339TQ in 100 degree weather and high humidity.

Also being Catless makes a huge difference, I'm sure there are some other "MODS" not listed... It's clearly not JUST and intake and muffler.

Just to clarify, you are still running stock headers with a SLP catback and an SLP x pipe (no cats)?

0 is about pretty close
If you look at the design of the vararam compared to say a blackwing, the vararam actaully has to "draw/pull" air through a couple of tubes for about 2 ft when sitting still (Is that the straw you mentioned?) Better than stock...Maybe, 5-10rwhp on a dyno, not a chance. As far as the dyno, the blackwing would definitly make more hp (hood up)
I installed a FAST90/pro ported LS2 TB, 3" x-pipe, and vararam (from blackwing) on a H/C car and picked up around 14-16 rwhp on the same dyno with same tuner. How much of that are you going to give to the vararam?? (PS: the 10yr tuner said I would have picked up more ON THE DYNO if I had kept the blackwing, but the vararam would be far better on the street
The fact is, although restrictive, the air filter just isn't that big a bottle neck on a stock engine until you start flowing some major air through it

A Blackwing did zip, nada, zero for my car on the strip.I picked up almost 4/10's instantly when I went to the Vararam.I really could care less about dyno numbers which can be fudged.

My FRC just dyno'd at 407RWHP 390RWTQ with an LS1 intake!

Of couse it's an M6 (as all FRC's) and has a cam, cai, longtubes and cat back. But hey still stock LS1 intake and stock LS1 heads not to mention it was 102 degrees inside the shop with 80% humidity

Are those corrected numbers? Dyno sheet doesn't specify if they are SAE or not.

That seems low to me as well from my limited knowledge on it. I've read the pulley can give up to 15 by itself, headers another 20 to 30. Then intake? Hmm

Unless a person is racing the cost of all that doesn't seem worth it to me. back in the day we didn't have a choice when dealing with 200 HP I was thinking about headers but now I'm not so sure.
