Headlight situation
A friend of mine has a 2003 with 31k miles. When he starts the car, the headlight doors open and the lights go on and the fuel gauge reads empty. If he shuts off the car and restarts it, all is well...lights stay down and off and fuel gauge reads accurately.
Anyone heard of this sequence before? I've heard of fuel gauge issues, but this headlight thing is strange. He does have the centennal feature, but this happens in daylight and is a new development for this car, which he bought new.

When my battery started to go, the hud was displaying different gage readings each time I started it.
