Default What do you recommend?

I am going with 19/20's on the Z06. I am trying to decide between a 305/30/20 or a 295/25/20.

Anyone running something similar and any reason why one over the other??
THanks!
Dave

I'm familiar with someone that runs the 25 aspect ratio on the rear, and he's commented that it's quite a rough ride, are you sure you want to go that direction? I have 19's all around, 275*30 and 305*30, it fills the wheel wells quite nicely and the car looks balanced because the tires all have the same sidewall height. IMHO

I'd also be concerned about possible tire/rim damage from any road hazards with a profile that low....

I've been thinking about a setup like yours. Did you lower? How about a pic?

If it were me...I definitely go with the taller sidewalls. In my experience, going to a 305/30 profile tire, you will already feel a noticeable degradation in ride quality. A 295/25 is just too little sidewall IMO.

How wide are the wheels? I ran a 315/25/19 in the back for over 2 years with no problems. The ride was a little more rough, it was mostly cracks, rocks, ect that you could feel more through the tire rather than them making the overall ride more rough though.

hmmm....interesting......to each, i guess.

anyways, i didn't see any mention of the wheel widths.

i am running CCW T-10's, 19x10/20x11 and i wrapped them in 275-30-19/305-25-20 michelin pilot sport ps2's.

while i'll agree that the ride is not as "smooth" as when i have the factory speedlines w/factory spec goodyears on, IMHO the slightly rougher ride is worth it for the look, regardless .....

and depending on what you run on the front, the taller sidewall might look a little "unbalanced".

either way, good luck and post pics when they're mounted up.

peace,

rich

I have ran both 18/19 and 19/20 setups and as far as the butt-dynometer goes, it really isn't that much rougher between the two. However, I don't DD the Z06 so I was willing to give up a little comfort for the look of a larger wheel. If yours is a daily driver, rolling on some other setups that have a bigger sidewall and may offer a little more comfort and protection for your wheels than the rubberband profiles of the 25's and 30's. Anyhoo, some pics for comparison:

18/19 (265 front and 295 rear):

current setup of 19/20 (265 front and 305 rear):

The width of your new wheels and their offset will also affect how they look and fit. May be it's just me but my old 19 rears (295x35 on 19x11 SSR's) looked wider than my current 20 rears (305x25 on 20x10.5 TSW's).

Anyway, good luck whatever you do.

My current setup is
CCW T-10s with Nitto Invo tires:
18x10 with 275 / 35
19x11.5 with 305 / 30

A shorter sidewall (25 aspect ratio) will reduce your traction.

Thanks forthe input guys, I went with 19x9.5 front with 275/30/19's and 20x11 rears with 295/25/20's.

I will post pics hopefully Saturday. Getting them mounted as we speak. gotta see how it looks with the car sitting as is, might have to lower if possible.

For those that ran similar setups...how low could you go without issue?

Got them on last night...Going to HAVE to be lowered lol!!! Let me know how low I can safely go and still not have issues. I know some of the pics I see the cars are in the weeds. Not a DD so ride quality really doesent concern me a ton. Some day I will do Coilovers...just not right now.

Thanks for any info! Oh and pics this weekend....she is DIRTY from sittin in the garage for weeks haha

They're custom wheel modeled after Forgiato Maglia, They were cut buy a local guy that reproduces high end wheels for less money.

Here's a shot of the original wheel..

You're welcome. I bet in an area like SOCAL that you can see Ferraris, and Lambos every day, your car gets more stares, and whiplash induced head turns than any "exotic".

Yeah I saw that page. Just wanted input on those running similar sized wheels/tires on how low on the stock bolts I can go. I am going to go C/O's soon..but want it down as much as I can for now.
