The corvette has 20,000 miles and his developed a continued break squeak whenever I slow down. This has occasionally happened before but never as persistently. Any ideas on how to stop it?
I have an 04 also and they squeak when I first hit the brakes. If I let of the brakes, hit them again, the squeak is gone.
18,000 miles on mine, original pads with plenty left on them.
Curious as to why it happens and a fix. For now, I've just been living with it.
My stock pads started squeaking just before I replaced them but I was down to the limit and the wear monitor was making the noise.
With after market pads it can often start if the pads are not bedded in properly and they glaze. If they're old pads maybe its just time to do a brake reline.
