Just don't drop one of the screws...you are working blind and threading backwards at the same time...I never found the one I dropped...it's probably stuck in one of my tires waiting to start a leak one day...

Reason: screws not nuts...
I removed my 3rd brake like by taking off the license plate and backup light assembly plate, just reach up with a net drive and remove the two screws and disconnect the harness.

The only problem with removing the license plate surround is that if you have a stock plate frame the odds of breaking one of the tabs is very high. The cost to replace the frame is around $100.'s I perfer the tail light option
Do it through the back up lights/license plate assembly, a lot more room to move your arms and easier to see if you duck and use a flash light! Done it a couple of times and this way is a lot more friendly to your forearms! Just take your time removing the stock license plate surround, to avoid breaking the tabs, if you loosen everything first, it's almost impossible to break the tabs!

Well, I'm now replacing the stock license plate assembly too...so I might as well go that route!
Looks like I don't have the right torx head bit needed. Any input on what size I'm looking to use here? Thanks.
Operation was a success...did it through the rear tail lights. Was a very easy job. (although yes, it scratched up my forearms) The new dark cherry halo's from corvette enhancements (and JW Motoring) look awesome.
Tonight I will finish the rear markers, license plate assembly and front DRL's.
