Wow thats crazy! I used this on my back bumper and I think I let it set too long with the tape on. It has some rough edges. What kind of tape and method are you using to get that good of results?

I have a couple bad spots also. I put a double pin stripe along the edge to smooth it out. You have to really move fast and remove the tape before the Dip dries. The larger the area you Dip the harder it becomes. The Big Butt was a real problem because it was so large. I try to Dip the center areas first and then quickly move to the tapped edges and cover those areas thick and wet. Then remove the tape. It really is trial and error. You kinda have to do this backwards from the way you would lay out paint stripes. I try to lay down my masking paper first by roughly following the lines I want to Dip. Then I come back with painters tape and lay down my fine edges also covering my masking paper. That way I can quickly remove my fine line tape first while it is still wet and then worry about all the masking paper later.
Great Idea to try that paint scheme first to see if you really like it, then you can peel off the plastic dip and then have it painted..................
Why do you guys use plasti-dip instaed of paint? Surely that stuff won't peel off without damage to the paint, so what's the advantage?
It peels off completely with out damaging the paint. I messed up the hood the first time I tried it and the Dip peeled off in a big sheet just like vinyl wrap. Paint underneath was good as new.
This is just temporary. I would hate to spend the money to have this layout painted, only to discover I don't like it. Now that I see it on the car I plan on making a few changes and then probably end up painting it permanent. I like it so far.
As they say, "Dare to be different!" Looks interesting, and great idea to make it tweakable before making it permanent, too! Not my cup of whiskey, but looks like you're having fun, and that's all that matters!
Like it better than the original picture although I am still not a big fan of black wheels. The silver calipers remind me of the new Grand Sport calipers and look good.
I bet the Ford guys really dig it as it would compare to the new Boss 302 paint scheme.
Looks like fun. Great Job! My only flame would be to have the stripes on the hood (and roof?) follow the contours of the car rather than being so straight. Or, maybe extend the hood stripes forward to wrap around the emblem.

Bingo!
I have to do some work on the hood stripes. I was thinking maybe to start them from each corner of the hood up by the window with more of a curve to them. And definitely bring them further down below the emblem. When I do final paint I might remove the emblems front and rear completely.
TorchRedDriver, looks great man very unique. I would say I think it will look even better if you did the lower part of the bumper black too. That way there's not so much color change going from red to black.
I love this design, if you carried it on down to the front bumper and also in the middle of the hood carry the black on down onto the hood it would be perfect IMO.
