Default Curb Alert - HELP NEEDED

So, got my curb alert installed - everything went swimmingly. Problem is - it is set to far too short a distance. I have searched, and read the calibration instructions over and over - I am sure I am being an idiot but can't for the life of me see how to adjust the distance.

HELP!

Thanks,

Ben

Don't they have a tech support number or email address? I've been considering one of those, I got the skid rail protectors, but I'd rather not hit anything to begin with. Look on their website for tech support, and please report back what you learn. Thanks & good luck!

Best regards,

Unfortunately, they are saying no one there knows...the one person at Southern Car Parts that knows the system is on vacation. So looking for help here! Looks like a great system I just need to get it set right!

I found this:
CURB ALERT Sensor Calibration · After mounting the Curb Alert sensor to your vehicle as described in the installation instructions, tighten the allen head screw to the near tight position. This will allow the sensor to rotate for curb height detection adjustment.

· Place either the 3 in or 4 in. side of the packing box on the floor @ 16 in. directly the front of the sensor. You should measure the ground clearance from the lowest part of your fascia to determine what curb height you want to detect.

· Rotate the sensor housing to the full upward position. Then rotate the sensor very slowly downward until an alert is heard. Maintain that sensor in that curb height detection position. Now, move the packing box to the distance desired for curb alerts and push the distance reset button. An audible beep should sound when the distance has been reset. You can expect to stop about 6 in. less than the distance set point selected due to your reaction time and speed after hearing the curb alert. Now, readjust the curb detection height to match the curb detection distance by slowly rotating the sensor upward and then downward until an alert is heard. Now, tighten the allen head screw very tightly!

· Place the packing box on the floor, slide it forward slowly towards the front of the vehicle. You should hear an alert at your selected distance. If you don’t hear the alert, repeat the calibration procedure. To check the sensor calibration height, you can also use the packing box. At the selected curb detection distance, bring the box down vertically in front of the sensor and measure the distance from the bottom of the box to the ground. It should measure either 3 in or 4 in. depending on the curb height adjustment. Note that the alarm circuit requires a 5 second delay between alerts.

· Your CURB ALERT is now calibrated to alert you when a high curb is detected at a distance of 16-28 in. The curb height and alert distance are easily adjustable based on your vehicle and preferences! A detection distance of 20 in. from the front of your vehicle’s bumper is suggested as an initial distance setting. Modify as desired.

That was here:http://www.brandmotion.com/curb-alert.html

It looks like there are 2 models and the first one I tried clicking on "Calibration" from "Installation" led nowhere, but the 2nd one came up with the above instructions. I would imagine they're both the same..?

Let us know if it works!

Best regards,
...z

Thanks man, got it! This was the bit I was missing:

Now, move the packing box to the distance desired for curb alerts and push the distance reset button. An audible beep should sound when the distance has been reset. You can expect to stop about 6 in. less than the distance set point selected due to your reaction time and speed after hearing the curb alert.

Psyched to have this! Lowering the car now too. :-)

Cool!

Well, I'm convinced this item is a "Must Have," so I just ordered mine. Hopefully, the instructions remain as clear to me when it gets here, as they are at the moment...
