Default Brake fluid

I'm getting ready to clean/change the clutch fluid on my 2001 vert using the "Ranger Method"....my question is....GM specs DOT-3......Ranger uses DOT-4........what's the difference and is there any problem using DOT-4

No problem running the DOT4. I believe it has a higher boiling point, and is considered a better quality choice.

Dot4 is an upgrade.

I use Prestone Dot4 fluid for all my brakes & clutches.Good stuff. I use the Ranger method for all my cars every oil change cycle.

Walmart has it for about $3.

Higher boiling points is true for DOT 4....unless your drivingstyle is hard on brakes, like track cars, DOT 3 will work fine too. Personal preferance.

I use the Prestone DOT4 synthetic fluid and I get it at WalMart for a great price. Switched over a year ago and have put over 10,000 miles on the car since with no problems. I also use the Ranger method.
You can't go wrong!!
Good luck!!
