Brickyard 400 Parade/Festival car info needed
Okay so I traded my 1991 convertible today in on this beauty and I need some info. Its a very low mileage Torch Red with Oak interior and top. It's got an Indianapolis Motor Speedway sticker on the rear bumper and the number 29 behind the license plate.
I've done a little googling and found a few pics of how the graphics should look on the car, but I haven't been able to find a lot of hard information and I'm hoping out there has some more for me.
I understand that these cars came with COAs from some sort of regional office, based on VIN. Is that something that a reprint is available from, either from GM or the NCM?
Does anyone have a shop they recommend to recreate the badging and stripes? And is there a list anywhere of celebrities that rode in these cars? I'm wondering if anyone famous rode in mine.
I'll post some pics uip, probably tomorrow, after it gets a fresh coat of wax. Thanks everyone!

I also found a 2003 red/oak convertible that is a Brickyard festival car and would like more information on these cars if anyone has it. I believe the car I found was issued to Kevin Lepage according to the owner. Does anyone know what these cars were used for or any history?

In 2003 the Corvette was the Official Pace Car for the Indy 500, not the Brickyard 400. Corvette did not pace the brickyard until 2006.
If there is a small decal on the rear bumper that indicates that it is a festival car. All the other cars that have all the Indy 500 decals are considered Indy pace Cars, but they were never at the track so there for that are just a special order car.

Howdy! I own one of the blue ones. These cars were used as festival cars at the 2003 race. Several of the Indy racers drove them, including Al Unser Jr and Sara Fisher... I have some documentation on mine that I was able to get from the NCM and I have pics of it before they put the decals on and afterwards. The race included the National Govenors Convention and the Indy drivers gave the Govenors Hot Laps around the track. Mine is for sale... I currently own 6 pace cars and they are all beautiful.
Hope this helps and if anyone is interested in mine, Let me know.

The OP mentioned the Brickyard 400, not the Indy 500. The only year that had a Corvette Pace car was in 2006, but that does not mean that the Corvette was not used as a Festival car for the Brickyard 400.
How about a few pictures and what year C5 are you talking about?

I should have been more specific. I have a 2003 Corvette convertible with the 2002 Indy 500 paint scheme (hand painted no decals)... I also have a2004 Commemorative convertible car that was used at the 2003 Brickyard 400. Both Festival cars. The Brickyard car is Montery Blue and has all the decals. This car was used as a festival car and driven by some indy drivers (at the Brickyard race) and they gave the Govenors hot laps around the track .. But I also have the 2007 Orbitz 300 Busch Series pace car from the Daytona race which is the actual track used car and I have the 2008 Gatorade Duels pace car which is the actual track car used in that race... oh and I have the #2 Budweiser Shootout Pace car, catual track used car.. and my favorite.. and pride and joy.. the 2006 Daytona 500 Z06 that Jay Leno drove. It still has the light bar and strobe package. If I can figure out how to post some pics.. I would but new to the forum.. I'm having a hard time figuring that out...

Try these sites. I just picked up car 77. Mine was #21 of 25 and carried Harry Gant and Lake Speed. Then the Mayor and his wife.

I purchased one of the 2003 Brickyard 400 event vettes yesterday. Mine has a #35 behind the rear license plate. Would love to know who road in it. I know Ricky Rudd was in #39. Here are a few pictures of the fleet of event cars like the OP is speaking about
