Default Advice on transporting the Vette

I have a C5 I need to ship to Santa Clarita CA from Las Vegas NV(260 miles). Does anyone have any recommendations on a transportation company, any advise. I have never shipped my car before and I would drive it but it will overheat in this weather.

Thank you in advance for any info or guidance. - Dan

You're looking at a 4 to 5 hour trip. If you're worried about overheating, couldn't you drive it at night when it is cooler??

I would imagine transport costs would be pretty pricey.

May I ask why you can't drive the unit.

408-334-3957 Ask for Rick. He's a car hauler in Tempe AZ . Friend of mine. He could haul it or can find you someone local that will transport it if he is not in the area. Let him know Luke in NC told you to call.

Can you consider loading it on a Uhaul trailer and towing it to Santa clara.
I towed my 04 Z06 200 miles and it rode perfect.
Just a thought. Good luck.

I can't drive it 90+ deg weather. I am sending it to RPM and hopefully they will help me resolve this overheating issue after I get it tuned. The driveability of this car is pretty bad. I would not want to get stuck in any stop and go traffic even it wasn't overheating. How I got here is a long story that started with a damaged motor from Dec of 2010.
The trailor option is a great idea, but I am working a lot of hours and it would be easier if I could just get it transported and have it stay at the shop for 1 to 2 weeks so Charlie can have time to try and straighten everything out if possible.

Thank you, I will check them out. I actually use to enjoy driving long distances in the Vette. It use to get more MPGs than my Acura TL. twice the displacement and 3 times the hp and still gets more miles per gallon, and it's more comfortable.

When mine shipped back to England, the shipping company sub contracted a company in Ontario, CA. Mine went the opposite way from Vegas to LA. They were very professional and the car in UK in good shape. Its always difficult to recommend any Company as each job is different but they were good in my case.

It shipped on a flatbed and they tied it down over the tires.

It's a lot more miles than 260 from LV to Santa Clara. I've done the drive from Cen Cal (Turlock) to Vegas lot's of times, its a good 6-7 hour drive and im about 1 hour away from Santa Clara.

Anyway I used Sunday Auto Transport to ship my 99 FRC from IL to CA, they weren't cheap, but they were very professional and it was enclosed.
