The car did great and yeah it was really comfortable... didn't have to bust out anything as the car did great. I could have made it the whole with one stop but I was hungry and didn't stretch the first tank of gas... 28.7 miles per gallon according the the DIC... couldn't put the girl in it as she was in Toronto for work.. was busting to get home so no pictures maybe do that on the way back... and best of all i only saw two cops the whole way and neither of them got me... thanks for all the advice
Whats the question?
Cell phone, AAA card, fix a flat , credit card, sunglasses , good nights sleep and ur off. Have a great trip.
Oh,....check the obvious, ...oil,coolant,tires,
Make sure you have had enough sleep, eat a good breakfast, start the car, idle for a few minutes and just go at it. Check the local radio stations at all the small towns or cities your going come in contact with for the different traffic gridlock traffic and go around them Believe me, adding another 25 miles to bypass a traffic jam is the way to go. The C5 is a fantastic car for long haul trips it's very comfortable. But the main thing is staying alert.
I made the trip from Philadelphia to Long Island NY everyday for nine years. The traffic is going to be bad, but there are way to go around them. I personally feel much better so long as I'm moving. nothing is worse than sitting a gridlock with the only sound is some idiot with his boom box pounding away.
Even if it adds miles to your trip. When I go to Boston, I head north on PA 476 all the way up the mountain to Clarks Summit, top of the mountain. From there on a clear day you can almost see to the Canadian border. And from there I head down onto the New York thruway 88, take that all the way to the Mass border and I then get on the Mass. turnpike 90 straight into Boston & Cambridge. If you have "EasyPass" or whatever your states radar signal toll paying module that attaches to your top of the windshield and you can slow down to pay the toll. But there's no sense waiting in line wasting a $1.00 worth of gas to pay a damn $0.50 toll. Pace yourself and the trip will really enjoyable. Good luck.

Just finished 4300 mile trip bringing my new 04 Coupe home from Calif. The C5 is a great car for long trips so you will be plenty comfortable. If you plan on doing this trip in one day I recommend getting an early start - you don't want to be on the road after dusk due to the damn deer. You'll know what I mean when you see all the dead carcasses along the highways. I always keep the following on trips - cell phone, GPS, AAA card, spare fuses, flashlite, small tool kit, bottle of quik detail, microfiber towels, extra quart of oil and a small cooler with bottles of water.
St Louis is a great town - we took our 2001 there a couple years ago and had a great time. Not sure which roads you will be on but we got a chance to stop at Mid America Motorworks in Indiana to get some goodies for the car.
Three years ago my wife and I did a 5,800 mile trip from KY to Hwy 1 on the coast of Calif. and had a great time. On a trip like that is when you really appreciate driving a vet. If you are running non run flats don't forget the slime kit with the air comp. So many of my friends will not drive their cars on a trip like this. They don't know what they are missing. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!
