Projector HIDS from JWMotoring

The ACA's (which I'm ordering now) are just the right balance of upgraded light output and style, without breaking the bank. Money saved for other mods.
Both are solid replacements for the horrible lighting the C5 came with. I run the ACA now and used to drive back and forth from night class at college. They were great

I'll just throw out some things to explain cost. Trust me we were bare minimum with the pricing. I did that to push some out so we have feedback etc. for future orders.
All hardware is custom made with these. Lots of R&D. Lots of custom parts. Everything is made in the US except the projectors and HID kits.
ACAs are made in Taiwan (not by ACA anymore). I don't know much about manufacturing these types of things, but they have molds they bought from ACA and have been using for years now.
Highs and lows are adjustable with the sun guns. ACAs only allow the lows to be adjusted.
They do need the shroud to complete the look. We had lots of requests for them to be sold this way so we did it. I never wanted to offer them like that, but there is a demand so we filled it. We sold all but 1 set which I might buy myself (yes I do have to pay for them
)

Don't get defensive - I run a set of ACA's as well on my wife's C5 and they are excellent. I went with the Sun Guns on my C5 because I love how they look and I am always looking to push the envelope in the world of modding in certain areas. Mine are being measured in the next week or two to prototype and produce the shrouds that will ultimately be released for these.I was joking about the ACA's look because I have a set and can do so. I've installed ACA's in other members' C5's with no reservations about their look and performance - so relax and enjoy them.
IMO they belong on a Lambo or Ferrari, not a early 2000's Vette. They also look very unfinished without some sort of shroud. Lastly, they cost WAY more than most would care to throw at lights for their C5.

Variety of choice is one of the best things about America and the C5!! We each value and prioritize different things.

I prefer a little more (ok, a lot more...) performance out of my Hi Beams.
Some don't ever drive their C5's at night so this upgrade in any form or at any price doesn't make sense.
Glad your moving toward the (DOT approved...
) light is my point as it's the safest up grade you can do for night driving.

Also, you should post a pic of a side-by-side comparison between Mrs. Patches ACAs and your Light Cannons. Perhaps a front shot of both parked next to each other as well.

Yep, America, the land of "mod till you drop" and don't give a crap what others think.
I'll post pics when I have my ACA/JWMotoring Projectors on there...say whatever you wish!

The overall look of the setup looks natural on the car..
I saw them listed on the DIY thread. I figured they had some good press!
Just another example of how awesome this site is...great support every where you look

Looks like when the prev-prev owner installed a set of PIAA's, he lopped off the factory low beam connectors and replaced it two extension wires with spade connectors
(ugh..why?!) You can see them on post #16 in the 3rd photo...Anyone on the forum sell repair kits?
JW - if you are in this thread today, could you check out my connections?
This appears to be correct..
iPhone pics - not the best, but hopefully good enough:
(left)Screw type connector on ballast. Red and black wires via single connectors to bulb 'grommet'
(Center) Braided red/black wires from bulb grommet to ballast
(right) Battery harness connector (with green wire) to the bulb tabbed connector
zoomed out a bit
(left) factory harness low beam connector
(center) factory harness high beam connector - I connected red/black wires to high beam bulb
(bottom and top) battery harness wrapping around
shows green wire from battery harness to headlight unit
Thank you!

Pulled the headlight retraction assemblies out yesterday..easier to test fit and/or trim everything while it's off the car.
I need to fix the low beam connections and install my headlight motor gears
Should get to the wiring this weekend....
Not sure why the extensions were used on the lows.. shielding on one of the spades was pretty black. I found replacement 9006 connectors, so all should be good

Extra underhood airflow??
Yes your connections look good. You may have to turn around one of the connections when you have everything hooked up. Be sure to test before sealing it up.
See step 13 for further on that.
I did see that reversal note as well...!

Funny, I was thinking about new corners (stock pieces are slightly cracked).
I am anxious to get it back together, but I can always take them back out!
Which corners did you install on your MSG coupe? I see JWM has a few flavors
hmmmm..........
I did rebuild my headlight motors.

A nice kit with well written instructions!
I received new 9006 connectors for my lows.
Should get them soldered to the stock harness this week.
JWMotoring shipped me his clear/black with amber corners.
Thank you again for getting those out so quickly!
Once those are in, wiring can be run and headlight assemblies can be installed...
Cant wait to drive this car again!
