I know there are a lot of posts on this topic, so I will try to keep this short. I am having a problem with my drivers side door lock not locking with FOB or Switch. it will unlock with both the switch and fob. So, looking through all of the threads on this topic, I ordered relays from digikey. I went ahead and replaced both, the lock and unlock relays in the drivers door module. Put it all back together, and the same thing, it will still unlock, but will not lock. the passenger door works fine. So, to keep this short, since it was not the relays in the drivers door module (unless I messed something up changing the relays), does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Thanks in advance for any help anyone may have.
If you read Bill Curlee's posts you will see a common link between most of the electrical issues with door panel electronics is the wiring between the body and the door. He suggests taking the accordian like rubber piece and giving it a good shake and see if that makes any difference. If it does, you likely have a bare wire or a dead ground someplace in that area. Also, the grounding plugs are suspect as well and he has some really nice pictures of corroded terminals in the plugs. I would do that before I purchased any more parts to throw at the problem. Good Luck!
You've done what I would have recommended. If you didn't mess up the relay swap, thats a tricky one. The wiring in the door hinge area shouldn't affect this. There would be more electrical gremlins if that was the problem.
The only thing I can suggest is to buy a new door lock module from a used parts vendor.
Interested to hear what you find as I need to replace my relays. My RDLCM was replaced under warranty but its failed again.
