It all started in 2004, but the first true Jake did not appear on the Corvette until 2005. That is why the only true Jake has the C6 logo. There never was a C5 Jake, although many have made their own using the C5 logo. It (at least in my opinion) is showing support for the Pratt & Miller Corvette Racing Team as well as all others racing Corvette around the world.

Here is a good explanation on how Jake came about.

Made a bunch out of 3M Di-noc carbon fiber. Haven't decided where to put them.

And when I consulted with a number of Corvette aero experts I asked if I shoulw remove the spoiler between test sessions and they all said "The R&M car runs both, just take the wing off for your tests the spoiler doesnt harm a thing" as you indicated.

Well I got "Jake" built and ready to install, but... how do I light him up? I was going to use the license plate light, but I can't get to it. I'd like to use one of the tail lights, but how do I get to them from under the car?
Any ideas...?

Sounds like a neat plan...maybe small LED light from Auto Zone?

Mis-understanding here. The question is... How do I hook up the light? I can't find any access hole from under the rear bumper to get to either the tail lights or the license plate lights.

Once the tail lights are removed you can access any light on the rear bumper from those openings.

I made a bunch of these some time ago and send out over 30 to CF members for free. Here is the thread with some early pictures.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...u-think-3.html

To the purist that seam to think the C6R is the only proper Jake, I'm sure you would not supercharge your car because it is not a ZR1. C6 Jake was the first copy righted Jake but it was born way before that. It was taking "no prisoners" in a C5R as a bastard child before it was legally adopted by GM. I like it and could give a rat if someone does not, so I have one more plate. First guy that wants it let me know, yours free .
