If you want better performance and a quiet ride then I would go with non-runflats. I changed mine out at 900 miles to non-runflats and was very happy with the results. You will find a bigger selection of tires and they usually are cheaper. I went with Goodyear GS-D3's, but they are not made anymore. Several people are pleased with the Hankook Ventus V12.
The only reason I would go with runflats is if I was doing lots of long distance traveling. I bought a small compressor and plug kit and keep it in the car, which is what they put in all the C5 Z06 cars.
DO NOT USE FIX A FLAT UNLESS IT IS A REAL EMERGENCY! It will destroy your TPMS sensor.

I like the peace of mind that I get with runflats.

I've been driving a Corvette since 1979 and have had exactly 1 flat (slow leaker) in all those years. I now have Goodyear GSD3s but as was mentioned, they are no longer sold. The Hankooks are good tires and the Continental Contact Extremes seem to be a bit better (I have them on my Mazda), as far as non-runflats.
Non-runflats weigh about 6-7 lbs less per tire than do runflats. That's a nice chunk of rotational mass that you can delete, quite easily.
