I believe several people are running the 275's with no problems. I am considering the same option.

I'm getting ready to run 18's all around. I'm going to run 275x35x18 on the front. Check the diameter of your rear tires against the 275x40x18's. those maybe too tall. Not that they wont fit, but you'll loose your front to rear stagger.

275/40's are too tall front, or back!

According to Luke at Tire Rack the offset will work just fine with 275's. I checked using the calculater above and the 275/40 17 fronts and they are still 11mm smaller than the rears vs 19mm for the original 265's. So, I am still going for the 275's.

I run 18 inch on all 4 corners and 265/35/18 on a 9.5 wheel and 295/35/18 on a 10.5 wheel in the rear for tires.

I think 11mm is cutting it close, Especially after rear tire wear.

While a 275/40 may fit up front, it is actually too big in diameter. First of all it will look terrible being too tall. Secondly, a 265/35-18 is the same diameter as the factory 17" tire. I run 265/35-18 and 295/35-18 on my car on 10" and 11" wide rims.

OK, so does anyone have some pictures of their car running the 275/40-17 tires up front?

I had 275-40-18's on the front at one time and they ARE TOO TALL. They rub when the steering is turned all the way AND it upsets the ABS system as well.

Go with 275-35-18's.

Same here, with 285/40-18s in the rear (on 9.5" rims), which are taller than 295/35-18s.

Thanks Sinister-one for someone tell me that they have run 275x40x18 on the front and having rubbing issues. What sizes tires and wheels are you running on back? THANKS AGAIN.

Davek 515 what do you think? I am still on the fence. I have had as many people tell me the 275/40-17 will work as I have that have said it won't work.

TrueBlue, you started out talking about 275/40-18s in front, then changed midway thru to 275/40-17s.

Whereas the 275/40-18s are undoubtedly too tall, on a one inch shorter wheel, the 275/40-17s may be OK.

So which is it?
