Swapping out gauge clusters.....
Remove the radio bezel,
remove the knee surround (under the steering column) or just move it aside and leave the light plugged in
remove a few screws that you did the last time
Remove the 2 silver nuts immediately under the steering column
lower the steering column just until it hits the stops (couple of inches)
Remove the trunk/foglight switch
Remove the 2 screws at the top of the gauge
telescope the steering wheel towards you as far as possible (auto on steering column)
push down on the gauge cluster to lower the top of the cluster then raise the entire cluster so that the plastic hook on the bottom of the cluster clears its orifice
remove the heads up plug if you have one
remove the huge plug in the cluster and slide out the gauge
Total job 19 minutes
You probably didn't push the plug in until it CLICKED!!!
pm if you have a problem
I'll walk you through it or you can send it to me for LED's!!!
Let me know if you are having issues.
I'm 90% certain that you didn't get the plug all the way in.
Very little goes wrong with these unless you sit it upside down for long periods of time.
I'll post my findings when have all apart.
We WILL get this figured out as I'm certain that your plug is just not in to the snap. It MUST hit the snap (click) ALL the way in or you will have an absolute dead display and that includes the Heads up as that is plugged into the top and must also be inderted all the way in but there is no click on that. There is NOTHING else other than a plug not pushed in ALL THE WAY that will wipe out EVERYTHING, other than a dead fuse which you already confirmed was fine.
PUSH that plug in ALL THE WAY and I guarantee you will have a big smile on your face. Also... for the future...if you take your gauge out, ALWAYS leave it sitting facing forward or up, never leave the display facing down for any period of time..(Half hour or so is ok) the units are fluid rich and must be left upright or sideways (like you see it when installed in your car). That will also create nightmares!!!!FYI
I'm thinking there's an internal problem with my new/used cluster....
And REALLY wanted to use the new cluster.

UPDATE : I was reading another thread with someone having the same problem I am. Looks like the cluster may have a bad power supply which operates the backlights !!
