Coolant temp hitting 230+ with the a/c running in 100 degree weather. I turn the a/c off but the the air going at full blast and the temp goes down to 214. What's the deal here????
Someone will chime in with the excerpt from the manual, but the second fan doesn't kick on til 228* I believe, so 230* is not a high temp, but normal. And you can always check to see if the radiator is crapped up.

Both suggestions above are good. This may sound stupid but is there fluid in the tank. How does the cap look, is t here signs that it may be leaking when hot. I was in our vette shop last week and a C4 was towed in for overheating. Low water level and a bad cap caused the problem. My 03 runs in the 195 with the A/c on and outside temp in the 90's

The low speed cooling fan is commanded on when the coolant temperature reaches 108°C (226°F). It is turned off if the coolant temperature lowers to 104°C (219°F). The high speed cooling fan is commanded on when the coolant temperature reaches 113°C (235°F). It is turned off if the coolant temperature lowers to 108°C (226°F). When the A/C is on and the coolant temperature reaches 85°C (185°F), the low speed cooling fan will be turned on at vehicle speeds less than 56 kPh (35 mph).
There it is. Thanks Chicago1. I found this from Evil Twin as well...

If after cleaning everything out and your temps are still high, you can always do what I did.
I installed a Cool-It from SacCityCorvette. It bypasses the relay and turns on the high speed fan. You can sit there in traffic and watch your temps start to fall. The really cool part is that it's remote controlled...no need to mount any type of switch in your car.
