Wow. Great story. Am I reading this right, eac of the STS-95 crew members ordered and drove Corvettes?
I live in Cocoa Beach. I have been to Kennedy Space Center multiple times. They make it a point that vettes and astronauts go together. They even have a C3 convertible as an exhibit. It was funny, the first time my wife and I went we go into the room with the C3 and while everyone else is looking at the space stuff my wife goes straight to the C3 and says "hey look, this vette looks like your old one"
I noticed the other day as we drove by former "Jim Rathman's" Chevrolet someone else owns it now. That name is infamous. He would donate those Vettes to the rocketship drivers.
Cool story,,and a GREAT job on your restoration!! You can be proud of the job you have done,,,she looks GREAT!!! As for your english,,no apologies necessary,,,I remember only a few words and a couple of sentences of my high school French. Couldn't begin to converse or write anything in a foreign language French or any other!!! Well done!!
That's a pretty sweet find and a really good looking car. My previous/1st vette was a 99 Mag Red. I loved that color. My grandpaw does custom carpentry work for John Glenn...well, it's mostly for his wife, she has some crazy ideas. Congrats on the car
