Default Really this hard?

Fellas I picked up a set of blackouts. Are the front corner pieces that hard to snap into place? I don't wanna break anything. Correct me if i'm wrong, but they slide into place between the light housing and the car itself right?

Simply put - Yes! That's how mine went in and they stay real good too!

They are pretty resilient and should not break.

Thanks,Matt

The front marker lights are on a spring-loaded hinge. Simply tilt the top of the marker light inward towards the car, and this will give you a lot more wiggle room to slip the blackouts in. Also, make sure 100% that you are installing each one of the blackouts on its correct side. Don't ask me how I know.

When I got mine, I tried sliding them in from the front by pushing in on the lights too. Still was too tight such that I couldn't get em in there without a possibly scratching up the paint on the bumper. Ended up putting the car on ramps and going underneath to unbolt the lights. I think I only had to pull a couple of the bolts per light. Getting to that point was a PITA because there's little room to work under there. Once the bolts are out, it's easy to slide the blackouts in, from behind the bumper. As TorchRedRocket mentioned, be sure you use the correct one for each side so you don't end up doing it twice.

I put these on a friend's C5 last year and they would not "slide in" like the instructions said. I had to loosen the bolts to get them to go in.

IMHO I don't really care for the ones that "slide into place... I used VHT Nightshades to tint mine... Have you considered that or possibly having them professionally tinted?

Either way; GL.
