Default Newbie with a Tire question?

Hey forum members,

I have a 1999 c5 and I just purchased a set of Repro C6 Z06 wheels, they will be here Monday. Much thanks to the group purchase here!

My question is what tires and sizes do the forum members recommend i go with. I will be running an 18" Front and 19" Rear. If you all would not mind please provide your current set up.

18x9.5 57-59mm offset front with 265/35/18 tires. For the rear, use 19x11 62-65mm offset with 305/30/19 tires.

Don't use 275/35/18 tires on the front as the sidewall is taller than a 305/30/19.

I have Michelin PS2's on my car.

But he can run a 275/35/18, and a 305/30/19. This is the correct size to go with so as not to effect the speedo, and not give active handling, and or traction control faults. These sizes are just a pinch larger in diameter than stock. Increasing the diameter of the front and rear the same is fine. It helps fill in the large wheel well too which looks better.

265/35/18 for the front is almost the same diameter as stock. If you run a 305/30/19 in the rear though, then you increased the rear diameter and not the front. I doubt it will be enough to cause issues though. I'm just sayin... Either the 265/35/18 or the 275/35/18 will work with the 305/30/19.

If you run a 18/19 combo the front tire should have a taller sidewall. Its just like the stock 17/18 combo's. The front has a taller sidewall. The only way to correctly have a taller sidewall in the rear is to go with a 18/18, or a 19/19 combo. Thats why I have a 19/19 setup.

Here is a procedure I wrote on how to PROPERLY size your tires. Follow thru this and you will understand. So many people on here do not size there tires correctly and are often disappointed on there tire size choice.
