Hello i have a 2002 c5 vette z06 and i am wondering if the transmission and differential are combined and share the same fluid? and also the manual says the tranny fluid is lifetime? i have a heard time trusting that myself my car currently has just over 42,000km if anyone can help me out with some information on if they are combined and share the same fluid and when to change it that would be great thanks
They do not share the same fluid. I change mine about once a year.
Do a search. There is some good info on this.
If you just got the car, and you don't know if the trans fluid has ever been changed, it won't hurt to change it. There's no filter, and it doesn't circulate. The diff is the same. They do not use the same fluid, nor share a reservoir.
