No, it does not change the reading, but it does adjust the passenger side temp up to I believe approximately +/- 6* F. If the driver-set temperature is set at 60F (16C) or 90F (32C), turning the passenger **** has no effect because the system is locked at a maximum setting.

very good to note because I always keep it on 60 so my passenger **** doesnt do anything at that point if its locked
thanks guys we have disected the c5 hvac, what nerds we are. Now can someone take mine out and resolder one led bulb that is starting to blink. Guess I am not good at soldering or my suspension is too stiff.
Jack thanks so much for the information. I though mine had stopped working but i have had it at 60 so now i know what is wrong, saved me a few bucks to because i was going to tear into it this winter, again thankyou so much.
