Default Transmission slipping....please help???

While driving my automatic yesterday I noticed that first gear wasn't shifting until around 4500rpms. So I got the trans fluid changed out and the filter and pan cleaned thinking that would solve the problem, but it didn't. Today I noticed that none of the gears wanted to shift below 3000rpms. Than the more I drove it the worse it got and eventually it didn't want to get out of first or second gear.

The question I have is that I'm pretty sure I need a rebuild but I'm not very familiar with transmissions so I don't know what to ask for? I have headers and a pro charger and running about 450rwhp. I plan on eventually doing heads and cams to achieve a maximum of 550-600rwhp. I want to keep it as my daily driver so I'm guessing I don't want a high rpm stall converter. I'm willing to spend between $3,500 to $4,500 for the build. I want your opinions on what you would do if this was your car? Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help

Here you go:

Finish Line Transmissions

Email: info@finishlinetrans.com
Phone: 630-350-7776

Ask for Andy, he'll take care of your needs. From what your final HP numbers will be I'd probably say a level 5 will work for you and I'd reccomend a Yank converter too maybe an SS2800, what gears do you have, 2.73 or 3.15?

My trans is there right now, getting a level 4, I got a cam, heads, headers, intake and 3.42 gears installed with a Yank SS3200 stall. My 3-4 went out on my stock trans also. Good luck.

Thank you for the info on Finish Line Transmissions. I will give them a call tomorrow morning. I believe I'm running stock 2.73 gears.
Anyone else please feel free to chime in on your opinions or suggestions.

No problem, if you decide to go with a higher stall you should at least have 3.15 gears. If your interested I can sell you mine that I just took out.

Thanks, but after reading some of the other posts on the Tech/Performance page I think I want to go with 3:42 gears. I'll let you know if I change my mind and want 3:15's. Thanks for you help
