Default Exhaust

Hi Guys
Thanks for chiming in, gave me a lot of great leads. I checked out all the ones you guys came up with and I think my choice will be the Mid America Motorworks Quad Power. Seems to have it all, looks great, easy install, great sound and in today's world, great price.
Thanks again
Dave P.

Default Shipping charge?

I went on Full Throttle to purchase the exhaust and it says $699 with free shipping but when I went to checkout it kept trying to add $53 for shipping. Is there a coupon code I'm missing. If anyone is still up and knows, please speak up or I'll just call them tomorrow.

In that case I would contact them in the morning. 699 is a good bargain for our cars. Have you looked in our for sale section? Lots of great catbacks to be had for 700 which cost between 1000-1300 new

The same thing happened to me when I ordered mine. He apologized and cheerfully completed my order without shipping charges. It's a programming issue that he's trying to get straightened out with his webmaster.

I know there may be higher dollar, maybe even better exhausts out there for sale used at the same price but to tell you the truth, it wasn't the price that sold me, even though that did help, I just really liked the sound of it the best. Hope it sounds the same way when I get it. Let you all know.
Thanks

Dave,

I ordered mine Monday Aug. 22, and FedX delivered them today. I hope to get them installed this coming weekend

I've tried a few

Stock - too quiet
Z06 - mildly better, still too quiet
B&B Bullets - Wild! Too much drone, but big performance gain! Didn't sound good on my A4 during shifts. They need a manual.

Corsa Pace Car - just right! Great note at WOT, good at accelleration, almost no drone at highway speeds. Easily talked over.

I added a Bassani X pipe which mellowed the sound and a Lloyds cargo mat that helped quiet the interior. I also eliminated the pup cats by using a Z06 h-pipe.

Thanks

Main trick is 1. Get it up high enough,,,and #2. disconnect the 2 inner sway bar mounts(2 bolts each). With the sway bar down,,they almost fall out,,at least on manual cars!!Enjoy!!

Quality built, great sound, no resonance (the more miles driven the more aggrevating cabin resonance becomes)...and pricey

I rode in a friends C5 that has them. Hand polished stainless. Nice sound at idle, scream when you punch it, quiet at cruise, no drone noted at any RPM.

I love the way they sound, and ordered from Full Throttle Corvette. On sale for $699, with free shipping and no sales tax. I should get them in the middle of next week.

If you click on the links, there are excellent videos so you can hear what they sound like.

Here's a "before and after" video from Torchred97.
Yup, pull it out of OD to decelerate, nice old school blurble too

Yeah Dave... I got them installed Friday, and I love the sound.

There are two choices in taking the originals out. Either the car needs to be raised about three feet, or the exhaust pipe in front of the muffler needs to be cut (Sawzall) to facilitate removal in two pieces.

I can't raise it three feet, and I didn't really want to cut the originals.

I called Custom Corvettes Of Corpus Christi who made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I had a set of FANGS that needed to be installed plus the exhaust swap. He put the car on a lift and installed them both in about an hour, and charged me $86.

Alas, no pix. He did it while I was eating lunch.

Here's a YouTube of it...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qQZQo92tr8

Next up... Callaway Honker, Long tube headers, and a dyno tune

Dick
