Default Dazed & confused...need clarification please

I think I've over-researched this & have confused myself....

TIRES: 2003 with 28,000 miles and need new tires. Front insides are badly worn & only my right rear (passenger side) is very worn, but just in the middle...???

Is my back tire worn-out that way because I turn harder one way than the other, or is it an alignment issue? Also, is it normal for my front tires to wear that way, just on the insides?

Lastly, seems to be my choices are stick with the Eagle F1 or Kumho Ecsta MX, which are about $400 bucks less. So, is there ANY reason to go with Kumho (or a diff tire even) rather than keeping the F1's? (other than $400 price diff?)

I'm 'new-ish' to all this, but willing & trying to learn

You might do a search on tires. This question has been discussed many many times over.

My front runflats did the very same thing. It seems to be a common issue with the factory runflats. Not sure if it's because of the extra sidewall stiffness or possibly the factory alignment. Replaced them @ 27,000 with Nitto Extreme 555's. Did a four wheel alignment and they have been on for nearly 34,000 miles and look great. Wearing flat, without a hint of abnormal wear. As for the back tire, possibly overinflated?

The front tires are worn on the inside because of the stock alignment. It can be altered a little to prevent that when you get new tires. A tire worn out on the center is from overinflation.
I have a Z06 with all season Kumhos on it and so far I am happy with them. They are not runflats and if I get a flat tire I am stuck. However, the car is lowered and I do not think I could get a jack under it if it had a flat. That is what AAA is for.
From what I have read the original runflats are very noisy tires. You may want to consider another brand that makes less noise.

Your front end needs an alignment and the back tire was overinflated

No, see my answer, above. It is not normal unless the front end is out of alignment, which is most definitely your case

Remember this:
Runflat tires weigh approx. 6 lbs more per tire. This is unsprung weight that, combined with a stiff sidewall, contributes to side-hopping around corners, a more punishing ride, and more money to dish out when it comes time to replace them. many C5ers here run non-runflats and keep a flat fix kit, 12V compressor, and a few tools (nail puller, etc).
The difference in ride is amazing and your choices of excellent tires is much greater.

I recommend the Hankook Ventus V12 or Continental DWs.

In most cases if you have 1 rear tire that is warn in the center is because of too much air in the tire.

Try looking into the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO tires - good reviews and a good price. I have them on my '03.

You might want to consider the Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus runflats. I bought them 2 years ago for my 2000 and I LOVE them. Slightly higher profile and much better ride and handling. About the same price as the F1's and SO MUCH better, IMHO.
