Default C5 exhaust

Did the 1998 Corvette come with stock exhaust manifolds or headers?

Short tubes will give little gain. For the price and install according to many it is almost not worth it for the short tubes. The long tubes are a big gain for not much more money then the short tubes. But if you are in a state like California I think "legally" all we can do is short tubes.

Don't buy short tubes....there's no point to pay that much for a negligable power gain.

I live in the socialist republik of Kalifornia...and longtubes aint an issue for me

Ok, I did a cat back system last month. If I go with the long tube headers, i'm assuming that I would have to replace the stock cats with new high flow converters and x-pipe.

Yes...your stock converters are a cork in the exhaust system. Most sets (mine are XS Power, excellent product) come with the full system including X-pipe and either with high flow cats or offroad pipes. To me, HF cats don't do sh** to cut down on the smell....so you'd might as well go off-road system.

I will gut my cats soon, louder and more aggressive sound
