Been gnawing on the tire situation. Hope to make a decision and order some rubber tomorrow. Planning to drive up to Bowling Green this Saturday for the LS Fest at Beech Bend Park. I may have a line on a good price for 295-35-18's but I need time to get them here and installed by Friday. So probably no pics until next week.
I plan on talking to tire rack about twisting Dunlop's arm to make a 295/35/18 in the Star spec they already make tires in 265/40/17 it would be the best autox / trackday tire for the money. Joel
Well it took a little longer than I planned but baby finally has new shoes. I hesitate to post pics because I haven't cleaned the car up, it needs to be lowered before I get an alignment and I don't have the proper lug nuts on the car either but here goes anyway.
My Z06 rear with Nokian all season tire.
A closer look at that tread pattern, only 25 or so miles so far and up to 70 mph and they are whisper quiet.
And a shot of the fronts. I went with Hankook V12 255-40-17. I thought about 265-40 and 275-40 but I believe I will be happy with my decision for my style of driving.
Do you think I needed new tires?
Now I know why I was loosing a few pound of air every week in that LR tire..
That's a great deal for a set of wheels. Looking at the wear pattern of your spent tires, I'd say an alignment is needed. I hope you had that done when the tires were put on.

No alignment yet, but it will be done as soon as I decide how I'm going to lower the car.

Just put the Hankooks on today so no real miles yet, but I recently put a set on my Impala SS and I couldn't be happier. Did a search on lowering and my goodness there has been a lot of discussion. Honestly my choice would be adjustable coilovers if the economy (my economy) hadn't tanked but the only way coilovers happen is if I scored like I did on the wheels, not likely. So I will probably lower on the stock bolts and see how that works. I like the slammed look, but I want to be able to drive the car and enjoy the ride. The non runflats are such an improvement I don't want to go backwards.
Crazy thing about this is, the craigslist ad for these wheels is still active. You would think people would be driving the seller crazy with calls, but I guess not. Here's the ad, http://louisville.craigslist.org/pts/2568653979.html
Next crazy thing is, the guy who mounted my new tires wants to buy my wagon wheels this Friday for the $300.00 I qouted him. I might be getting the hang of this horse-tradin thing.
