Default More belt squealing....

So I had really bad belt squeal/whine at 5K+ RPMs and I went out to Able Chevrolet and they discovered my water pump was leaking onto the A/C belt which was causing the whine. So I replaced the pump and A/C belt and the whine seemed to be gone. But now I am noticing a very slight whine in 1st or 2nd gear at somewhere over 5,500 RPMs. It doesn't seem to happen every time, and it is very brief/subtle. Is some belt whine on these cars just considered normal? Or do I need to make another trip to get this fixed?

I am a bit frustrated at this point because I thought it was fixed, and the idea of driving 4 hours (2 hours each way) to get this fixed again is annoying me.

I am thinking that maybe they didn't clean the pulley well enough and some coolant residue is still there...or?

Hmmm...no whine on mine but its under 20K, though it would have to be pretty loud to hear it at 5K+....

I can only hear it with the windows down and I have to really listen for it. I doubt most people would even notice, but I am really particular with my car.

The excess coolant is probably the culprit. Maybe a few more days of driving will cure it.

I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago when I had water pump and belt replaced. Changed to Goodyear Gatorback belt and goodbye to the belt whine.
