I have 1999 Convertible with the message pull Key wait 10 seconds, in July i had to get a bypass system for the column lock since then i am getting the above message? what can I do about this? thanks.
With specific emphasis regarding condition of your battery and pulling the fuse. I believe if I were you, I would reverse the install and then go back trhough it. There are tons of posts on this issue and most have had good success using the bypass. Good luck.

The Battery is brand new and I went thru the reseting the codes and pulling fuse 25 and 29 about 10 times and still get the message.
Thanks.

Reason: forget to thank you! Sorry.
An automatic should have had a GM K Harness installed when the recall service was done by a dealer. Did you disconnect both ends of the K Harness and plug the CLB into the female connecor attached to the bottom of the dash?? Or did you plug the CLB into a female connector that has only 2 wires (1 white and 1 purple) going into the back side of the female connector??? If the CLB is plugged into the latter connector it is incorrectly installed. Remove the K Harness by disconnecting it from the the female connector that is attached to the bottom of the dash. Then plug the male connector of the CLB into that female connector that is attached to the bottom of the dash.
If the K Harness is completely disconnected then there are a couple of other things to check. there is a Column Lock Relay in the passenger footwell. It is to the left of the IP fuse box and above the BCM (large silver box). ou can recognise it by the 4 wires that go into the wiring base. 1White, 1 Green and 2 orange . If you know how to bench test a relay, check it to make certain it is not fried. If you are not familar with bench testing it, take the relay head to a parts store and get a replacement. (less than $20). Also check these fuses in the IP fuse box.
8, 13, 19, 22, 23, 25, 29, 47 and 50.
Replace any that are blown.
For any of the above you may need to clear codes. Here is a procedure for pulling the codes. At the end is an explanation for clearing them:
I live in Canada and I had it done in California while my car is there, I think you can call them with your vin to verify I had got a recall notice in the mail many years ago but never got around to do it until it wouldnt start hope that helps

if you havent done it yet GM will do the recall steering lock module for free I just brought my 99 in last week and everything is back to normal
The GM recalls do not work. If you go with the oem recall you WILL eventually have this issue again. 8Vette7 is extremely knowledgeable on this issue; listen to him.
Fwiw a guy in the corvette club around here had this exact issue because he had plugged his clb into the factory recall k harness. If you still have that harness take it out and throw it as far as you can and reinstall the clb.
Have you cleared the codes since it happened to see if it returns?
8Vette7 is your source for info on this.
GM sent a letter out a few years back dissolving themselves of all future responsibilities for this issue and as notice they would no longer pay for this service.

Yes I did clear all the codes, I ordered the simulator kit Corvette of Houston and will see what it does.
