What A Bitc$
Man, I don't know if I had the the wrong cover, needle, thread or what, but 6 hours later and I finally got it on:
Bought the cover used off here about 2 years ago and wheelskins sent me the replacement thread..but man what a job...

I think I'd have to hire someone to install that little flower for me.

Not a good look. I too would suggest having someone with some experience putting that on. I have read several threads about this so I know that there is a certain technique and good outcome.
Good Luck

Possibly start with two threads and needles and lace it like a shoe?

Man, that's a lot of time invested for a steering wheel cover.
I took the easy, although expensive route, and went with a Vette Essentials steering wheel.

Once upon a time I thought about the wheelskins but figured I'd never be able to make it look good....went the same route as Vetteman Jack with the VE

The Lt. Oak stitching looks out of place in the black portion of the cover.
Also the overall fit, when compared to the Vette Essentials wheel, looks rather poor.

I am not patient with things like that so I stray away. That kind of stitching is difficult. I think the stitch is not supposed to cross the seam accomplished by using two needles with thread crossing over and under. I would take it off and try again or at least take it off.

Wrong color thread, poor fit, an answer to a problem that doesn't exist.

Please guys don't hold back - - tell me how ya really feel
yeah I wasn't sure if I was gonna like it or not, I'll have to live with it a little while....
Same thing with the thread color...although thinking about it maybe I can black it out over the black sections...
Didn't think the fit was too bad, its very tight around the wheel - 1st one I've done so I probably coulda did a better stitchin job...
Agree a VE wheel would be better, but then again, I think I'll spend that $400 somewhere else

Other than the thread color, it looks fine. I've done three of the WHEELSKINS covers on tri five cars. It does take some time. The blisters heeled in a few days. If you decide to change the thread color, the company will send you the thread gratis...at least they did for me.
Ignore the naysayers (that's what the ignore feature is for). Who cares what they think.

i don't think i'll pass, but it confirms my original suspicions that this is one of those mods best served by using the professionals on. when the budget finally allows, it will come from a provider that knows what they are doing (and not me relying on my meager skills on something i am ill prepared to handle properly)
