Cracked bellhousing causes?
I have a 1999 with a mn6, the manual transmission. About 25k miles ago the previous owner replaced the transmission. I got under the car while I was installing my new tick performance clutch master cylinder and noticed about a 6 inch crack in the bellhousing from the side all the way to where it mounts onto the engine. What could have caused this? I haven't had time to pull everything apart yet and look at the driveshaft but I never experienced any rattling or shaking and never experienced clutch slippage. The only thing is I was replacing the clutch master because I was experiencing sticky clutch in high rpm. I have driven the car hard to its rev limit and it has been taken to the drag strip. Sorry about the huge essay but hope all that info will help someone who knows more about what could have caused this.
