Rattling in drive train
Hi! I am new to the forum and to owning a corvette. I have a 2002 coupe, six speed manual, no mods; so far I love the car! I just had a question about a rattle that is going on in 1st gear. It only happens when I accelerate, not real hard but I do get on it sometimes, and it sounds like a rattle coming from right underneath me. I have read a couple of things and they say it is in the valve train? Is this true and normal? Also did the LS1 motor change at all in the C5? thanks in advance for the help/answers!

Scroll half way down on the page and watch the Owner Video's for Z06, most of it is applicable to the standard Vette.
I think part 3 is where it discusses the noise your hearing. It's inherit in the drive line, and Chevy added it to their owner video to quiet complaints. Perfectly normal.

It was a normal noise in both my 6-speed C5s - It's in the tranny.
