used heads
What do I need to look for in used heads. If I were going to get a set of used ones off of ebay I would have them checked out but I have a set of 01 heads from a Z06 that I am going to help take off. They are currently still on the car. Do people normally get used heads looked at if they know they came from a running engine or is it suggested to always get them checked professionally?

Plus have them checked out in ever way possible. Make sure they are flat and new springs and all. No cracks in them after all these are not steel heads..

My plan was new seals and springs. I don't know enough about the mechanics of heads to know exactly what to ask for after that. flatness is a given. Antivenom said they would refresh them for a really good price so it seems smart to trust they know what they are doing. I am not paying anything for the heads so even if it costs me a few hundred I am still ahead.
