I was in fourth grade at the time. I remember a teacher rushed into the room and turned on the tv and a minute later my class watched the plane hit the second tower. We were all speechless My mom was in CA at the time on a business trip (I'm in NJ) and I wasn't worried about her until the my name was called over the loudspeaker in the room. Thank god it was just the office paging me because my mom called in to say she's okay. I couldn't fully comprehend the attacks at the time but even just reading the thread on this forum from 9/11/01 pinned at the top brings tears to my eyes.
Thats about how it was with me except I was in fifth grade at the time and we all got shoved into two classrooms and watched it all unfold.
Its amazing how everyone can remember exactly where they were and what they were doing that day.

There is no damn way I will ever forget the events of that day. If I could I would go back on active duty to do my part in the war on terror. My thoughts and prayers are with the men and women of our military every day, as well as the firefighters, police officers, etc that work hard every day to keep us safe.
Damn the cowards who destroyed so many lives in NYC, DC and Pennsylvania and damn the terrorists who continue to plot against the USA. God Bless America, God bless all of the gentle souls lost on 9/11 and their families. God bless all of the troops in harms way who are protecting us and........NEVER FORGET!
I say....... KILL'EM, KILL'EM ALL !!!! Damn raghead bastard cowards !
I knew 4 people who lost their lives that day. All worked in the towers. All tragic stories, but the worst was my friend Lisa Egan and her younger sister Samantha who both worked in the north tower for Cantor Fitzgerald. Their offices were above the plane crash. Lisa was 31 and her younger sister was only 24. I can't even start to imagine how hard it is for their parents.
I personally didn't have any friends or relatives who perished that day but I did loose 343 "Brothers". I'm a Volunteer Fire Fighter so this day for me is a tough one.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all who lost their lives that day and their families.
9/11 Never Forget: It's not a profession, career, or job..To us its a calling. Don't mourn our fallen brothers or sisters instead let their memories live on for the passion they had to help and serve others. When we sign up we know that sometimes all that go in don't always come out. For those that haven't made it out I will forever keep your memories alive. God Speed my Brothers and Sisters !
Seeing a woman in business suit who wanted nothing more than to earn living jumping out of shattered window.
(I was there)
And knowing that there are still nations out there that support, finance, harbor and encourage terrorists.
They hide behind the shield of "its only a handful of radical extremists"...

As a retired member of the NYPD, I would like to thank everyone for their support and thoughts on this important date. Ten years ago, all of us gave some and some gave all. Never forget the sacrifices that have been made and the brave soldiers and first responders who are still fighting the enemies who have destroyed our treasured lifestyle. God Bless America!
I flew the American flag today, and I was very proud to do so...
anyone who kills innocent people is a coward...
I, too, thank every American I meet in uniform...
God bless the USA forever.
