I've been thinking quite a bit about 9/11 over the past couple of weeks. I worked in NYC then and had driven in for a meeting the morning of 9/11. As I made my way to the Lincoln Tunnel, I remember looking and seeing smoke from one of the towers at WTC but didn't think too much about it. I made it through the tunnel and found out I was one of the last cars through before the City was locked down. I worked in Mid-Town and remember the surreal feeling of being outside with hundreds of New Yorkers as we watched the Towers fall.
I thank God that I was safe and sound where I was located and I was actually able to get out of NY later in the day with three co-workers, passing the army's of brave police and fire men and women as well as other emergency workers who were rushing to the WTC to help, many who are still dealing with the health related problems resulting from their work at the site.
Damn the cowards who destroyed so many lives in NYC, DC and Pennsylvania and damn the terrorists who continue to plot against the USA. God Bless America, God bless all of the gentle souls lost on 9/11 and their families. God bless all of the troops in harms way who are protecting us and........NEVER FORGET!

For those of us who witnessed it on TV it was devastating. I can't imagine what it must have been like to be in the eye of the storm.
Cowards who kill the innocent are the scum of the earth. We have been way to kind in our execution of this war. IMO
I attended a Terrorist Training in San Diego in 2002, full about 200 Officers in the room. I asked the question, "So how do we win this war on Terrorist", the answer from the FBI instructor, "We can't, fighting a normal battle approach, we have to kill all of them who believe in their views, you see we are the infidels, they are getting their orders from god!". This war is not over, my son is in the middle east (Army, Communications/Spec. 69th DADA/DBE), so it is forever on my mind daily. I pray not only for my son but for all men and women over there, until each and everyone comes home, I will always support them. For all who blame our soldiers, don't, they are not policy makers, they are the tools of he policy makers decisions, so address your senators and congressmen.. Here's a picture of my son on RR in my C5,(civilian clothing due to war haters) a proud moment for me.....

Well stated!

I grew up in northeastern NJ and I remember seeing the Twin Towers go up as a kid......I remember the morning of 9/11/01; driving to my office in Mahwah NJ, I was just approaching the parking lot when I heard on the radio about the first plane striking the north tower. When I got in the building, we all watched as the 2nd plane struck the south tower. I will NEVER FORGET the horrible feeling and shock as I watched the attack combined with the anger and sadness.... I despise the terrorists who commited this heinous crime and all who continue to plot against us, destroy and kill innocent people.
NEVER FORGET!
I was in fourth grade at the time. I remember a teacher rushed into the room and turned on the tv and a minute later my class watched the plane hit the second tower. We were all speechless My mom was in CA at the time on a business trip (I'm in NJ) and I wasn't worried about her until the my name was called over the loudspeaker in the room. Thank god it was just the office paging me because my mom called in to say she's okay. I couldn't fully comprehend the attacks at the time but even just reading the thread on this forum from 9/11/01 pinned at the top brings tears to my eyes.
It was a horrible day here in NY. My Mom passed away the next day, too (not related to the terrorism that day). I think of both days with sadness, but also count my blessings to live in this country and with thankfulness to all those who fight to protect us.
God Bless to all those who have gone, those who are left behind and to the many who serve (and served) to protect and fight against the lowest of the low
The NY attack will forever live in my heart as a reminder of how disgusting those "believers" are
My hope is that ALL American's never lose sight of what terrorists stand for, and just how misguided and fanatical they are

Wow, that was a lot to deal with! Sorry for your loss
Too bad that in the name of safety, we have fewer liberties than before 911. Ten years later, America has become a Police State thanks to Terrorists and Politicians.
Me, ex-Army Sergeant, sworn to defend the constitution. Remember the fallen.
Thanks Mike98Silvert, appreciated.. I wonder how many sr. men out on this forum would, (now this is just a dream question), if you could would you go at this age and fight these terrorist, now I'm 52 and I would go in a heartbeat. It is what came into my mind when I saw the video of the men and women jumpinig from the world trade building. There is a memorial to the fallen in Lafayette Calif. on the side of the hill next to Highway 24, he put white crosses for every fallen soldier, I'm reminded every day I go to work, we can only win this war if we see it through... They can't win, we have to honor the fallen in NY, and I'd go if the government would let me join up.... I believe every young soldier has a future, I've lived mine, I'll trade the place of a young person anytime.. Ok, dream question is over... I'm off my box...
God Bless to all those who have gone, those who are left behind and to the many who serve (and served) to protect and fight against the lowest of the low

I am a war hater...but WHY there are Americans who turn on our own soldiers I will never understand. I thank every one I see...anywhere.
My anger about 9/11 is still WHY. It was done for NO reason. Whatever 'cause' the terrorists claim is 'why' is totally invalid. It was done for no reason or purpose. It was a waste of life and property....for NOTHING.
