With a Minimum saddle height of 2-5/8, you would spend a ton more money to get anything lower.
I have this jack and so far I love it. Caught it this summer for 109.00. Watch the web site they go on sale all the time. It is heavy but it maneuvers very easily on the floor. Padded handle so you do not scratch the car and a foot pump if you don't have room to pump the handle. I think harbor freight sells a lot of junk but this jack and the aluminum racing jacks are quite nice for the money. Never trust any jack, always use jack stands and you will be fine.
My 2004 C5 has not been lowered, it's stock height. The clearance from the face of my pucks to the floor is 4-1/2", thus several of the HF floor jacks will work just fine with pucks.
Can anyone tell me the clearance in inches, from the floor to both the front and rear aluminum cross members?
This is what I have in mind, and I would like to insure that whatever I settle on will work like this...
Front
Rear
I have that same jack and it's a piece of crap. Leaks oil all over the floor and then it won't lift until I refill it. Bought all new seals/o-rings and it still leaks.
I don't care about that jack, it's not the one I want. The only thing I'm interested in is knowing how many inches there are between the bottom of each of those aluminum cross members and the floor.
I have the aluminum low profile jack from Pep Boys to take to the track. For home I'd recommend the Bendpack MD 6XP. You will need 4 16 ft 2X8 to drive the car up on to clear but it makes working on the car so much easier. If you do a search on the forum you will alos fined someone who built it into a pit in his garage. It may cost a bit more but it is worth every penney.
Price seems to have gone up a good bit since I bought it, but it's a great jack. It's the same as the OTC one I've seen recommended around here a lot. Reaches to under the front cross member without having to put the car up on boards, with some room to spare.
I'm going to get this one, weight is a factor. In June of 2008 I bought A "TORIN" big red jack from "Costco", it just let go not sure if I want another one because I didn't use it all that much.
Check out the video...
Minimum saddle ht. 3.25 in.
Works great for lowered vehicles.
That one was on sale 2 weeks ago for $59.00. Almost bought it just to have a spare at that price but I waited and now it,s $99 again. It will go on sale again.
check this out, bought it this weekend ..sidewalk sale but if you talk to the manager he may give it to you for the same..69.99
a bit heavy at 71 lbs. but lifts 2.5 ton...thats 5k compared to the nice lil one at 3k
but instead of only going 14" high it goes up 20"
REAL LOW min. ht....2.75"

I want to buy a low profile floor jack. I would use this mainly for
cleaning my wheels and I want to paint my rotors. I was wandering about one from harbor freight, any reccommendations would be
helpful.
thanks-jerry
I have one from Harbor Freight. Although made in China, it's quite nice. Heavy duty components. Price was great too. I got it when they had a sale going.
Also, a piece of pressure treated 2x6x16 board fits perfect under the cradles and lifts the entire front or rear end. And allows for the jack stands to be position perfectly on both sides where the board creates the pad between the jack stand and the cradle.
I finally was able to catch the 65080 in stock. I see a lot of mention of it in threads, but very few actual pictures. Here it is next to my old standby. The Michelin jack goes down to just over 5", and raises to just under 20".
The HF jack goes both lower and higher.
I see no reason to not trust it, at least as much as any other jack.
