I want to remove the 2 cooling fans on my car to clean out the radiator? Is there an easy way to do this?

Are you talking about cleaning the debris that collects between the radiator and condenser? If so, I use an appliance bottle brush and compressed air. Sure the fan assembly does get in the way a little but you can get the around most of it to direct air through it. Granted with the fan assembly out, it would be easier.

I have pictures of how I do this....

It's much easier to leave the cooling fans in place, and remove the radiator instead.

Huh?

The fans are connected to the radiator. If you remove the radiator, the fans will go along for the ride.

DeeGee posted some good pictures. It's not really that bad. You have to remove the upper radiator hose, I believe for clearance.

I did mine from below with car on jackstands. Open up all the wire harness clips, disconnect both fans. The plastic fan shroud sits in metal clips that are part of the radiator. You need to pull the fan shroud up out of the clips, then it is free. I took mine out from below.

I had to give it a nice whack to dislodge it from the clips. Warning, if you do this from below, make sure you are not under the radiator, keep your mouth closed and wear some eye protection. It will feel like it's raining debris.

Default BiLL !!!!!!!!!!!

Bill, the fan assembly sits in 4 "J" hooks, two on either side of the radiator..So does the AC condenser...if you remove the radiator shroud, you can lift the fan assembly up and out of the hooks, enough to get in there, without having to struggle, you can do that with the condenser too.

Not if you lift the fan assembly off, and move it slightly out of the way, first.

The fan assy will come out from the top just takes a little wiggling and maybe a spare set of hands. Once all of the connections are undone, lift off from the j-hooks, tilt the passenger side down and the driver's side up and it will come out. Took myself and a buddy an 1hr to remove the fan assy, remove and install 2 new fan motors and re-install the fan assy in his 01.

A thin piece of cardboard, placed between the fans and the radiator, will help keep the radiator fins from being damaged during the process.

It's quite a simple process really. Not to be a ***** but it probably took more time to type the question than it would take to remove them.
