Has anyone polised out their stock ZO6 wheels? Was thinking about polishing the face only over the winter. Are they painted or powder coated? I actually saw a pair of rpro's with a polished face and the rest powder coated comp gray. It looked pretty good thought I could get a similar effect by polishing the faces of mine. Thanks in advance.
I had it done. There have been people here who said they did it themselves, but I think it entails a ton of work. The painted finish alone is very tough to remove - aircraft chemical paint stripper notwithstanding. The look that you are describing sounds more like a machined face - wheels are put on a lathe - which results in a more satiny finish. Panther Wheels in Surrey, B.C. (Canada) has a great rep for refinishing wheels. I've also used Wheels America, which has several locations around the country (some shops do better work than others). Good luck whatever you decide.
I had my wheels done at Panther last winter........Awesome work!!!!!! I had mine machine polished and painted yellow on side of spokes. The barrels were done in silver. They were excellent to deal with and reasonably priced , $800 for the four wheels.
They painted them to match. Looks real good. If I was smart enough to upload pictures I would. Check out the panther wheel website, I had mine done just like the Z06 on their site.
