I like the GoodYear run flats too. I have also used Kumho run flats. I actually have a set of each. These are the two best looking tires, run flat or not, imo.
I've got Kuhmo runflats on mine. Still kind of noisy, but I love my runflats. Three flats (or "nonflats) over the years. Glad I had 'em on at the time.

It isn't necessarily so. I drove 50 miles at 55 MPH on my Goodyears and the tire was irreparable. Whatever went wrong with it, went WAY wrong. So I wound up having to buy a whole new set anyway, even though I only had about 23k mi on the Goodyears.

The Kumho's are noisier than the Goodyear's. My Goodyear EMT's are pretty quiet.

I'll have to agree with you there. I had my "FR-Low Tire Pressure" light come on yesterday. Pulled into Les Schwab, and they pulled out TWO NAILS! Repaired it and didn't charge me. I've had an account with them for over eleven years. Great people. I need some new tires anyway, so I bought some P/S runflats. I'm having them put on tomorrow. I hope they are as good as people say they are. I guess I'll find out.
I also don't like runflats and have not used them for several years.
however I do empathize with changing a tire at night in the rain.
I had a blowout after hitting a chunk of lava on the road in HI at night on a hilly road in the rain.
I had to drive on a flat tire for a mile to find a spot flat enough to change the tire....
on an unfamiliar rental car without a light in torrential rain.....
Good thing this is only the second blowout in 40+ years of driving or i might have to rethink runcraps.....
