You really arent gaining any leverage. A Carmax buyer can buy a car from any state and have it shipped to their local carmax for an extra 600 dollars. TBH Carmax is known for being overpriced. You pay for the creature comforts of a "no haggle" price, a great inspection of the product, and the ability to ship nationally for a low fee.

Ok this is what happen i live 450 miles away for Los Angeles. I found this REALLY nice 01 black vette online i talked to the owner "the owner told me there was noting wrong with the car and it looked great" got most of the paper work done on the phone and all i had to do is go pay and sign some papers. So the next week i flew to Los Angeles got to the car dealer and i couldn't believe what i saw the car looks terrible the was paint was cheap, faded and chipping. The interior was all ripped noting worked the windows, seats, wipers, lights. The photos online where Photoshoped , Owner told me a bunch of lies and i spent like $1,000+ on plane tickets and hotel. The only thing i regret is not kicking the owners as*

I'd suggest you learn how to check the codes. That way if theres a fault on the car you can makes sure its fixed before you buy it.

Can't help on current prices as I live in UK. Never bought from carmax during my time in the US.

Best of luck.

Its a long list

Look for a "C" code as those are current problems. Any H codes might give an idea of potential problems.

You could post up any issues and we can advise whether to run away

Things I'd suggest you check:

Make sure there's no evidence of a battery leak around the battery tray
Look for leaking differential seals
Check the windows, door locks work on the key fob.
Make sure the headlamps pop up and retract normally
Listen for belt squeals

Quick Reply: thinking of purchasing at carmax any suggestions
